Kamala Harris returns

Wednesday night in San Francisco, Kamala Harris gave what was billed as her first significant speech since the 2024 presidential campaign. Although we covered that campaign for a living and we can’t recall her giving one significant speech then, either. Can you remember anything of significance that she said? It was mostly a lot of word salads that were like Ritz Brothers movies: Funny at the time, but hardly anyone remembers them now.
Anyway, suffice to say that the new speech didn’t go any better than her previous speeches. The “high point” was a word salad about elephants that could have fed an elephant.
Harris is allegedly the frontrunner for her Party's presidential nomination in 2028, but she still can’t come up with a coherent sentence, even with months to work on it. Meanwhile, Trump gives 90-minute speeches off the top of his head, and there are always at least a dozen quotable lines.
Amazingly, this speech was streamed to Internet devices for $25. We assume that if you didn't want it streamed to your device, it was $50.
Tim Walz: Code-Talker
Harris’ running mate Tim Walz was also back in the news for admitting what we all suspected: he wasn’t hired for his competence. Walz claims he got the nod because Democrats were losing working class white males who watch football and work on their trucks, and he could “code-talk to white guys.”

There may be some truth in that, but we don’t think the code that working class white guys picked up on was the message he intended to send. He was trying to signal, “I’m a macho dude like you,” but what came through was, “Be vewy, vewy quiet! I’m hunting wabbits!”
Democrats: Have a Big Hole at the Top
Since the media seem so fixated on Trump’s lower approval numbers, why aren’t they talking about the Democrats’ polling? One look at their polls will tell you why, since CNN’s latest poll has the approval of Democratic leaders at a record-low of 27%, or 17 points lower than Trump’s.

But even worse for the Democrats, they have no clear path to regaining popularity. Their loss of support is driven by both moderates who think the Party has gone too far left, and radicals who think the Party isn’t far enough to the left. No matter which direction they go, they’ll drive away even more of one or the other of those two groups. No wonder they’ve been reduced to just screaming about Trump being Hitler around the clock.
And here’s even more disturbing news for them (although amusing for us): Democrats strongly disapprove of their party leaders even though they have no clue who their leaders are.

In a poll by Noble Predictive, Democrats were asked to name their party’s leader. The #1 answer at 35% was “None or Don’t Know.” Kamala Harris came in second, but with only 10%. She was followed at 9% by that renowned Democratic leader, “Other Miscellaneous.” Congressional leaders Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer tied at 7% each.
Next came Bernie Sanders (6%), AOC and Joe Biden (tied at 5% each), “Other Democratic Politician” (we assume that’s the cousin of “Other Miscellaneous”) at 4%, Barack Obama and Cory Booker tied at 3%, “Multiple Named” (whatever that means) at 2%, and Bill or Hillary Clinton, Ken Martin, Gavin Newsom and Nancy Pelosi with 1% each.
So bad news for Jasmine Crockett: All that embarrassing political theater playing her rapper character of Cardi-B-Crazy didn’t even get her enough name recognition to break out of “Other.” And we’re a bit surprised that Michelle Obama didn’t get named. Maybe her flop podcast has sunk her, or possibly exposed her lack of support all along. She just made it worse by claiming on her podcast that the idea of Trump deporting black people keeps her awake at night.
The left claims it needs to find someone with authenticity, like Trump or Joe Rogan, but is anyone dumb enough to believe that Michelle Obama authentically loses sleep worrying that Trump will start rounding up black people?
So who is the future leader of the Democrats? Considering their hatred of Trump and kneejerk support for the worst people on Earth, from murderers to illegal alien wife beaters, our money is on this guy…

California voters remember these two stories when you vote
California legislators must’ve finally realized their policies are driving people out of the state. So they’re ensuring that California remains friendly to people who solicit minors for sex. This should at least keep some of the celebrities from moving out of Hollywood.
In other California self-immolation news, a bipartisan bill was introduced to copy the successful education reforms of states like Mississippi. Its Republican leaders did away with social promotions of kids who failed reading and brought back phonics. Result: Mississippi, the poorest state, is surpassing richer blue states in literacy tests, and it ranked #1 in demographically-adjusted scores on the National Assessment of Educational Progress test of 4th and 8th graders.
Louisiana came in second, while the bicoastal hubs of snobby liberal elitism, New York and California, ranked 12th and 20th, respectively.
But of course, the teachers’ unions were adamantly opposed to the reforms, so the Democrats who run the legislature killed the bill without a word of debate. Some of them probably didn’t even read it. We wonder if they can?
